The subproject of Ukipolis, a development organisation owned by the municipalities in the Vakka-Suomi region, aimed to increase the adoption of electric, hybrid, and biogas vehicles and the number of charging stations in the Vakka-Suomi area.
During the project, the needs of housing companies, businesses, and the city for acquiring charging stations were mapped out.
The project disseminated up-to-date information, including details about available support funding for investments and obligatory statutes. Events were organised to provide information on charging stations, services, and the benefits and opportunities of electric vehicle use.
Additionally, smaller SMEs in the region were offered the opportunity to familiarise themselves with a free, loanable 11 kW charging station. This allowed companies to gain experience with electric vehicle charging stations. The project also produced materials, such as a video, on how housing companies can initiate investments in charging stations.
